Our Doctor

Lynette Crouse
Dr. Lynette Crouse grew up in the city of Houston and attended Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart where she graduated with high honors. She earned her double major in biology and chemistry from Houston Baptist University and her dental degree from the University of Texas – Houston in 1999. Following graduation, Dr. Crouse attended an internship program in Periodontics in Madrid, Spain. She was accepted the next year into the graduate practice residency program at the University of Texas for additional advanced training.

In 2004, Dr. Crouse opened open her own practice. She has received additional training in cosmetic dentistry and smile design from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Crouse works with talented professionals who love what they do and genuinely care for their patients. We provide concierge level service, taking care of everything (including setting up appointments with specialists if necessary) and making sure that you are comfortable and relaxed during your visit. Our team is very energetic, is one word I would use to describe the team, and they are very outgoing and I like that. I think for the most part you need to have outgoing people to create a positive environment, and I think that one of the things that patients feel when they come into the office for the first time is that positive energy. There’s nothing better for our team and for myself to see a patient come in having a bad and leave with a smile on their face. And how many people can say that after going to the dentist? It’s very rare but it happens, because we like to joke around with them, we know about their personal lives, we ask them questions about themselves, it’s a very positive atmosphere and even when perhaps the news isn’t that good, you need to have a crown done because you have a cavity, we try to make it so that it’s not that big of a deal, we can fix this, let’s get through this together. And I think that the team that I have works very well with each other and they feed off of each other’s energies.

We have Karen who is up at the front, who is very, very dedicated to making sure that she has the information that the patient’s need when it comes to their financials, when it comes to their insurance plan, whatever it is that they need, if they need anything transferred from one office to another, she will do that for them. She is like their personal assistant, basically. Anything that they need, they can call her.

Melissa is the one in charge of greeting new patients when they come in and she is very organized, she makes sure that when they come in they have what they need, she offers them something to drink, she’s very friendly, she lets me know that they’re a little nervous, let’s not let them wait, let’s get them in really quickly because they’re not looking like they’re too happy waiting in the waiting room.

My dental assistant Sheena and my hygienist Natalie, they’re very gentle, they’re very talkative and they want to make sure the patient feels comfortable. And really, at the end of the day it’s just a caring environment. We’re really trying to make sure that the patient leaves with a full understanding of what they have need of, and that they don’t have any questions when they leave; they don’t leave here going I have no idea what I’m supposed to do now. They know exactly what they’re supposed to do and if they do have any questions they know that they can call us at anytime. The team energy is really important and I think that’s one of the things that patients notice.

Emergency Policy

We have a mission statement, we have a philosophy, it’s more about the way that we communicate and educate our patients. Communicate to our patients and educate them about oral health. I think the biggest thing that is missing in general when it comes to health care whether it be dental or medical care, is the patient’s real understanding of what it is that they need and why it is that they need a certain treatment.

I find a lot of times that patients come in and they’ve been told that they need something but they’ve never really understood why. They didn’t have the time that was spent on them to get them involved in taking care of themselves, and we really believe here that it’s a team effort, that it’s not just me telling the patient what to do, it’s not my staff, my team, telling them what they need to do. It’s the patient also being committed to helping improve their health and following along with the recommendations that we give them. And also, at the core of that is the patient understanding why am I doing this, because if they don’t understand what they’re doing, then it doesn’t have any value for them. And so, our mission has always been to make sure that every patient understands why it is that we’re prescribing what we’re prescribing for them, why this treatment is important versus a different type of treatment, and what it is that they can expect long term for their oral health.
